Overview
What to Expect
This weekend intensive is built around the Surf Hub Longboard Foundations curriculum — the same progression that's helped hundreds of surfers online, now delivered in person at Noosa's world-class point break.
Over two full days you'll work with Rowan and Lauren in a group of no more than 8 surfers. The focus is longboard-specific: stance and style, finding and maintaining trim, cross-stepping towards the nose, longboard turns, and wave selection for longer rides.
Each day combines structured theory sessions with extended water time at First Point and the surrounding breaks, followed by personalised HD video analysis of your surfing. You'll see exactly what you're doing right, what needs work, and how to fix it — frame by frame.
Noosa's First Point is one of the best longboard waves in the world. The long, peeling right-handers over sand and rock give you time to practise cross-stepping, find your trim line, and work on nose riding in a forgiving, predictable environment.
Whether you're picking up a longboard for the first time or you've been riding one for years and want to develop real style and technique, this intensive will accelerate your progress faster than months of solo sessions.
What Makes This Special

Cross-Stepping & Nose Riding
From your first shuffle to elegant walking the board. Broken down step by step with land drills, in-water coaching, and video review so you build the muscle memory that sticks.
Trim, Glide & Wave Selection
Learn to read Noosa's point break lines, find the sweet spot on your board, and select the waves that give you the longest, cleanest rides for practising footwork.
HD Video Analysis
Every session is filmed from the beach. Watch back your waves with a coach, get frame-by-frame technique breakdowns, and leave with footage you can review at home.

Noosa Heads sits on Queensland's Sunshine Coast and is home to one of the world's best longboard waves. First Point is a long, peeling right-hand point break that wraps around the headland inside Noosa National Park. The wave is predictable, forgiving, and offers rides of 100m+ on the right swell — perfect for practising cross-stepping and nose riding. The Noosa township is walking distance from the break with plenty of cafés, restaurants, and accommodation options from backpackers to boutique hotels.
